Memoirs of an Entrepreneur, Hal Miller

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Harold Miller became an entrepreneur “at the tender age of sixteen” when he bought a used 1935 Ford Delivery Van for $35 dollars, and started a grocery delivery business. His career dossier includes; being a radio disk jockey, air conditioning design engineer, sales manager of Singer Climate Control Division, and founder of a sales and service business, which in turn paved the way for entrepreneurial enterprises including real estate development, and the redevelopment of downtown Auburn, New York.

Now, retired from most of his businesses, Miller is developing his “retirement career” which includes; free lance journalist, author, world traveler, and race car driver.

Miller starts most days before 5 AM and lists biking, swimming, and body building among his daily routines. He says of retirement; “A type ‘A’ personality cannot race through a career at 80 miles per hour, slam on the brakes, and sit there with the engine idling — frustration is sure to follow.” So far, he shows no signs of slowing down and lists among his remaining goals — to live an active life until the century mark.
